Trial: Hot Flashes & Night Sweats
A Field Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy of DermaTherapy® Bedding Fabric As Used to Provide Relief For Hot Flashes and Night Sweats

STUDY DESIGN:
This study involved twenty-five participants made up of people - mostly women - who have night sweats, hot flashes, or were going through menopause. Participants were assigned to sleep on the experimental fabric (DermaTherapy®), in the form of a bed sheet set that included a pillow case, a flat top sheet, and a fitted bottom sheet. The study consisted of an 8-week Evaluation Phase. Subjects were asked to use the DermaTherapy® bedding continuously during the 8-week study.
The primary outcome was as assessment of the DermaTherapy® bedding as compared with the participants' normal bedding. Satisfaction with the DermaTherapy® bedding was measured using a Quality of Life Questionnaire at Week 4 and Week 8.

CONCLUSIONS:
In this study of people who have night sweats, hot flashes, or were going through menopause, significant improvements were demonstrated after only eight weeks of using DermaTherapy® bedding.
In comparison with their current cotton bedding, study participants using DermaTherapy® bedding reported significant improvements in:

The amount of uninterrupted sleep that they experienced,

Their ability to keep cool ,

Their ability to keep dry,

The amount of sweating,

And the level of perceived comfort.
Over 92% of total women, and women going through menopause, reported some level of improvement. All participants experiencing night sweats reported improvements, with 75% reporting significant improvements. Overall, 93% of study participants reported improvements in their quality of life related to hot flashes and night sweats. |
